Architect, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore
Nicholas Li is a Senior Architect at the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, where he has helmed various portfolios in Urban Design and Planning for the past 10 years. He has been in charge of planning and development of various key areas of Singapore, such as the main retail belt of Orchard Road, the northern gateway of Woodlands Regional Centre and the future Airport City at Changi East, amongst other areas. His work experience also extends to cross-border planning for transit and Transit Oriented Development, Place Management and regular large scale Road Closures for Singapore’s Car-Free Sundays. He is currently working on strategic level studies for Building Shadow Policies and enhancing Streetscapes across Singapore, inspired by the Mid-Rise Corridors Plan of Toronto. Between 2017 – 2018 he was on secondment at Urban Strategies Inc, where he was able to work on studies such as masterplan concepts for Astana (Kazakhstan) and Shenshan (China), Urban Design studies in London and Toronto, Ontario, as well as a housing study for Hong Kong.
