Executive Director, SeedChange
Jane Rabinowicz is Executive Director of SeedChange, one of Canada’s longest-standing charitable organizations. Founded in 1945, SeedChange works with 30,000 farmers in 11 countries to build food sovereignty by saving seed diversity, spreading sustainable farming, and working to build equity in the food system. Jane is also co-founder and Vice President of the Silver Dollar Foundation, a family foundation that supports grassroots organizations with real estate and educational programming in Montreal. Her previous roles include Founding Director of The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security, Executive Director of Santropol Roulant, and Director of Development at Equiterre. Jane serves on the Board of Directors of Tides Canada, and has previously served on the Boards of Centraide du Grand-Montréal, Girls Action Foundation, Food Secure Canada, and the Centre for Community Organizations. Jane was profiled by the CBC in their We Are Canada series highlighting young leaders, named one of the 53 most influential people in Canada’s food system by The Globe and Mail, and one of Canada’s leading women changing the way we eat by Châtelaine Magazine. She splits her time between Montreal and Ottawa.
